Probe into cause of blaze at Belfast petrol station
An investigation is to take place into the cause of the fire at the Stewartstown Road petrol station in Belfast.
The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service said eight appliances attended the scene of the fire which had broken out in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Fire crews managed to contain it to a single building, stopping it spread to adjacent premises and on-site hazardous materials.
A number of residents had to be evacuated from nearby homes due to the intensity of the fire.
Just after 9.30am the Fire Service said it was out and a small number of firefighters remained at the scene to dampen down hot spots.
Fire investigators will examine the scene once it is safe to do so to determine the cause.
