An underground cannabis factory worth an estimated £60,000 has been uncovered by police.

Around 120 plants were found when officers searched premises at Moneysharvin Road, Maghera, on Tuesday.

Detective Sergeant Kelly Gallagher, from the PSNI's reactive and organised crime branch said: " A search of the surrounding land uncovered an underground cannabis factory contained within three containers that had been dug into the ground."

Two men aged 47 and 22 arrested as part of the police investigation have been released on bail pending the completion of financial checks and to facilitate full examination of the scene.
