Public Accounts Committee votes to invite Arlene Foster to appear over RHI probe

The Public Accounts Committee is to invite First Minister Arlene Foster to appear before it as part of its investigation into the Renewable Heating Incentive Scandal.

It is normal convention that ministers don't appear before the committee. Civil servants usually give evidence on behalf of their ministers to explain the detail behind decisions.

At a meeting on Thursday, the committee voted to invite the first minister. Members said there were a number of questions the first minister needed to address.

She has pledged to meet with it, if an invitation was made.
