Rape accused says allegations are 'all lies''
A Portuguese man accused of rape has said the allegations are "lies".
Under cross-examination, Tiago Sousa (28) told Belfast Crown Court everything his alleged victim has said "was all lies".
Sousa, with an address at Pembrook Court in Newtownabbey, denies raping the woman on June 13 last year.
She gave evidence that, having been out with friends, she had run out of money for a taxi and had no credit on her phone so went with Sousa to a restaurant to use the phone there when she was allegedly raped.
She claimed she only agreed to go in once she had established there was another woman inside, and that throughout the alleged attack she had screamed at Sousa to stop and for help.
Sousa claimed the only time he was told to stop was when he tried to have sex with the woman but that he did in fact stop.
The trial continues.
