Respected journalist David Morgan laid to rest
Dozens of journalists gathered in Belfast yesterday to pay tribute to veteran broadcaster David Morgan.
Mourners gathered at the Church of St Michael the Archangel in Finaghy to say farewell to the 56 year-old reporter, who had worked for the Irish News, BBC, UTV and Citybeat during his career.
Fr Eamon McCreave described Mr Morgan as an "intelligent, family man", echoing tributes from former colleagues who called him a true gentleman who genuinely cared for people.
There was drama minutes before the funeral when paramedics fought a desperate battle to save the life of an 81-year-old man who suffered a cardiac arrest nearby.
A defibrillator was used before the man was rushed to the Royal Victoria Hospital.
