Rock fall forces scenic Antrim coast road to close
A major rock fall has closed the Antrim coast road.
The world-famous route was closed by the landslide at Garron Point and looks set to stay shut for several days until rubble can be removed and the cliff face made safe.
There were no reports of any injuries or damage to vehicles.
Rock falls are a constant hazard on the scenic route.
Nets are used in various parts on cliff faces to try and protect drivers.
The road has constantly been rated as one of the most spectacular coastal routes in the world and is also held up as a triumph of 19th century engineering.
