Rory McIlroy shows gruelling daily fitness regime ahead of Augusta Masters 2016 in new Nike campaign
5.30am starts, vegetable smoothies, high intensity training - just a day in the life of Rory McIlroy
Ever wondered what a day in the life of a professional golfer is like?
Well our very own Rory McIlroy has shown us just that as he reveals his gruelling dawn-to-dusk regime in a new advert for Nike.
Entitled, Enjoy The Chase, it charts McIllroy from when he gets up in the morning, what he eats, his intense training, right up until he takes victory on the golf course.
The World Number 3 golfer's alarm goes off at 5.30am and the 26-year-old is up and ready for the day ahead as he makes and drinks a healthy green smoothie.
It then shows the four-time major champion's high intensity training schedule as he sweats it out between different terrain runs and weight-lifting.
McIlroy will be hoping that his preparation is enough to help him take home the coveted Green Jacket next Sunday at Augusta.
The Masters begins on Thursday and the Co Down man is eager to take the year's opening major.
McIlroy is confident a new low-key build-up to his Masters bid will pay off. McIlroy goes to Augusta this week relatively under the radar and has already opted out of Wednesday's high profile pro-am ahead of Thursday's opening round.
Of the current heavy-hitters - Jordan Spieth, Jason Day and Adam Scott - he is the only one without a tournament victory to his credit so far in 2016.
Meanwhile, the "Enjoy the Chase" campaign also boasts short spots featuring other members of Nike's stable of golfers, including Michelle Wie practicing putting in a hotel hallway.
