Rory McIlroy's Twitter spat over 'rich and bored' jibe
Rory McIlroy hit back at criticism of his US Open performance after he was accused of being "bored" of playing golf.
The Holywood man, the world number two, replied to fellow golfer Steve Elkington on Twitter after he crashed out of the Major having missed the cut.
Elkington said: "Rory is so bored playing golf... without Tiger the threshold is (probably) 4 majors with 100mill in bank."
Rory responded: "More like 200mill... not bad for a 'bored' 28 year old... plenty more where that came from." Elkington replied: "Knew you were a money guy, Jack (Nicklaus) won 18 and never mentioned his total cash."
