Rural homes can drill own wells

Rural homes not connected to the mains water supply are being allowed to drill their own wells.
Agriculture and Rural Development Minister Michelle O’Neill has announced that 35 Letters of Offer have been |issued to successful applicants to the Rural Borewells Scheme.
The scheme is one of a range of initiatives in DARD’s Tackling Rural Poverty and Social Isolation Framework to help isolated rural homes not served by a mains water supply.
She said the existing projects are on schedule to be completed by March 31 with 19 more to proceed from April 1.
