A sawn-off shotgun has been found in a graveyard.

Police in Belfast said the weapon was discovered by members of the public in a part of Dundonald Cemetery yesterday afternoon.

Inspector King said the gun will undergo forensic analysis.

"There is now an investigation ongoing as we seek to establish where the weapon came from and for how long it had been there," the officer said.

Police have appealed for anyone who may have seen suspicious activity in the graveyard in recent days or weeks to come forward.
