Seasonal arrangements for Royal Mail postal services

Royal Mail is reminding customers of delivery and collection arrangements and Post Office branch opening hours over the Christmas and New Year holiday period.
“There will be a normal delivery with an earlier afternoon collection service from all post boxes on Christmas Eve, Wednesday, 24 December,” said a Royal Mail spokesman.
“There will be no deliveries or collections on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, and Boxing Day, Friday, December 26. Normal service will resume on Saturday, December 27.
“There will be no deliveries or collections on New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1, and normal service will resume on Friday, January 2, 2009.
“Main Post Office branches will close on Christmas Eve at 12.30pm. Opening hours may vary across the network and customers are advised to check their local branch for details.
“Post Office branches will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day, and will re-open again on Saturday, December 27.
“Branches will also be closed on New Year’s Day and will return to normal business hours from Friday, January 2, 2009.”
For Parcelforce Worldwide, there will be a normal delivery and collection service on Christmas Eve, but no such services on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.
“There will be no collections or deliveries on Saturday, December 27, however, enquiry offices at Parcelforce Worldwide depots will be open for customers to collect parcels from 8am to 12.30pm,” said the spokesman.
“Normal service will resume on Monday, December 29. There will be no deliveries or collections on New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1, but normal service will resume on Friday, January 2, 2009.”
Royal Mail’s Tomb Street enquiry office, which serves the Greater Belfast and Holywood areas, will be extending its opening hours for customers who need to collect packets and parcels over the Christmas period.
The office will be open from 6.30am to 7.30pm on Monday, December 15, to Friday, December 19; from 6.30am to 5.30pm on Saturday, December 20; from 2pm to 6pm on Sunday, December 21; from 6.30am to 7.30pm on Monday, December 22, to Tuesday, December 23, and from 6.30am to 5.30pm on Christmas Eve (Wednesday, December 24).
