Second Co Antrim school is shut over asbestos alert
Another Co Antrim school has had to close its doors following the discovery of asbestos.
Cross and Passion College in Ballycastle has closed two weeks early for summer after "minor particles" of the potentially fatal building material were reported.
St Joseph's Primary School in Antrim had to be shut down last week after asbestos was found.
Parents of pupils at Cross and Passion were informed of the find by text on Tuesday, the Council for Catholic Maintained Schools said.
They were told the school would be closed from Wednesday but that children taking exams would be able to sit them on the school grounds, but in another building.
The CCMS said the asbestos had been discovered in some areas of the school during routine building work.
