Security alert at Stormont postal sorting office ends
A security alert in the grounds of Stormont has ended after a suspect package discovered at a postal clearance station was declared nothing untoward.
Army bomb experts had examined the object which police have now said was a legitimate package sent to a member of staff.
It comes only hours after staff at the courts in Belfast had contacted police amid fears that another package was a letter bomb.
It was also found to be a legitimate package.
Police were contacted after the item was examined in a security scanner at the Royal Courts of Justice.
The alert at Stormont comes just 24 hours after a viable letter bomb - addressed to Secretary of State Theresa Villiers - was intercepted at Stormont Castle.
