Shannon makes youth call
Ards Borough Council Alderman Jim Shannon has encouraged young people to become more involved in the work of the NI Youth Assembly.
Speaking at the launch of the Youth Assembly at Stormont last week, Mr Shannon said: “There is a real challenge with the skills and experience garnered for the future, young people can make a difference and their voice must be heard. We need your input and I would encourage those in the 16-18 years of age bracket to sign up.”
Mr Shannon said the recruitment of a panel for a Youth Assembly will listen to the views of young people across the Province.
These opinions will then be fed into the function of the youth assembly and further up the line to the main Assembly itself.
