Shots fired at house in north Belfast

Two men aged 21 and 33 have escaped serious injury after shots were fired at a house in north Belfast.

A bedroom window of the Ludlow Square property was smashed during the incident at 10.20pm on Thursday.

Police said one of the men suffered minor cuts to his hand from broken glass.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson said: "At this time we believe at least two shots were fired through the window."

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives on 101.

JJ Magee, Sinn Fein councillor in north Belfast, has condemned those behind the gun attack.

He said: " Those who brought guns on to the streets last night in the New Lodge have endangered this community.

"These actions are wrong and clearly pose a threat to life, especially in a built-up residential area like this."

Mr Magee also encouraged anyone who saw suspicious activity to contact the PSNI.
