Smoking in cars carrying children to be banned
Smoking in cars carrying children is to be banned here after the Health Minister tabled an amendment to proposed laws.
Simon Hamilton told the Assembly the move came in response to concerns raised when the measure was not included in planned legislation.
"Many were understandably concerned at the omission of a clause banning smoking in cars with children," he said.
"I have listened carefully to the arguments, and I confirm to the House today that it is my intention to bring forward an amendment to ban smoking in cars with children."
Mr Hamilton said his changes would also make it illegal to sell e-cigarettes to minors, and for adults to buy them for children.
