Snow my God! Breathtaking aerial snaps of the Mourne Mountains in Northern Ireland are 'icing on the cake' for photographer Colin Bailie
Renowned photographer Colin Bailie's passion for capturing images of beautiful scenery has propelled him to some amazing heights but taking these amazing photos of the snow-covered Mourne Mountains is, he says, one of the high-points.
Colin, who is based in Donaghadee, took the images following Northern Ireland's recent snow blizzards that caused widespread disruption and saw snow drifts up to 20ft high in the mountains.
He said: "I had a few commissions which took me airborne. The majority of my time was spent in the Newcastle area travelling throughout the mountainside.
"Its only from my perspective as an aerial photographer that we can appreciate the stunning world in which we live.
"The Mournes have always been a favourite location of mine - whether walking or flying.
"I love photographing rolling mountain scenes whenever I can. But to photograph the Mourne Mountains covered in snow is really the icing on the cake."
The Mourne Mountains are a granite mountain range in County Down. They are said to have inspired Belfast-born CS Lewis to create the magical land of Narnia. Highest mountain in the range is Slieve Donard at 2,790 ft. The Mournes is an area of outstanding natural beauty and is partly owned by the National Trust. More information
