A church service has taken place to remember 116 soldiers who died in the Easter Rising.

The service of remembrance took place in the Co Down village of Greyabbey.

The event was organised by the Royal British Legion and took place as scores of events took place across Ireland to mark the centenary of the Easter Rising.

Following a parade, a wreath was laid on the grave of Sandy McClelland, of the Royal Irish Rifles.

The rifleman was 18-years-old when he was killed in Dublin on April 27 1916.
