A south Belfast house has been damaged in an arson attack.

Detectives are appealing for witnesses following the fire at a house in the Damascus Street area of south Belfast on Tuesday.

Around 10.40pm, a fire was reported in a vacant property in the area. Police and NIFRS attended and the fire was extinguished. Damage was caused to the kitchen as a result.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information that can assist with the investigation to contact Detectives in Musgrave Police Station on 101.

Information can also be passed anonymously via the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
