More than 700 runners took part in the Mount Stewart 10K - the sixth race in the Belfast Telegraph Run Forest Run Series organised by Born2Run Events.

William McKee from Mourne Runners took first place with a time of 33min 31sec, while fellow club member Laura Graham was the fastest woman in 36min 54sec.

William and Laura have now won their sections in four of the Run Forest Run races.

A new venue, Mount Stewart is one of the most unique and unusual gardens in the National Trust's ownership, enjoying the mild climate of the Ards Peninsula on the shores of Strangford Lough.

The race started and finished in front of the impressive 16th century house and the route was a mixture of road and forest trail.

It took in some of the most notable highlights of this fine estate, from panoramic views of the lough, through the gardens with their Mediterranean feel and past the lake to wooded areas with a range of plants from all corners of the world.
