The new service station, which includes a branch of Greggs, Burger King and Subway, opened on Thursday on the Southbound carriageway of the M1 between the Black's Road junction and the Saintfield Road junction at Lisburn.
It follows on from the huge success of the company's first northern venture on the motorway between Glengormley and Templepatrick.
An identical station will be built directly across from its existing premises on the northbound carriageway of the M2 and it will be open by the end of 2016.
Applegreen also have a filling station on the A26 Crankill dual carriageway and another outside Coleraine
