Technology firm brings 15 new jobs to Belfast
A London financial technology company is opening a research and development centre in Belfast, creating 15 jobs.
Clarus Financial Technology provides data, analytics and research for investment banks, hedge funds, regulators and brokers.
The jobs will pay over the Northern Ireland private sector median wage of around £24,000.
Co-founder Dr Gary Kennedy, who is from the province, is relocating from London to run the Belfast office.
The venture is backed by £75,000 in funding from Invest NI.
Dr Kennedy, a quantitative analyst, said: "We looked at other locations in the USA and Republic of Ireland for our new R&D centre but the business environment in Northern Ireland, the strength of the talent pool here, the proximity to Queen's University and the support from Invest NI made Belfast the best option for us."
The 15 new roles will be filled over the next three years. They are a development manager, eight software engineers and six business analysts.
