Teen (15) among pair arrested after stolen car crash in west Belfast
A 15-year-old boy has been arrested after a stolen car crashed in west Belfast.
He was arrested along with an 18-year-old man in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Police air support was deployed as officers observed the car driving erratically.
Police in west Belfast arrested the two males at 3.36am following the burglary of a property in Donegall Street where a car was stolen and then driven dangerously in the west Belfast area.
A approximately 6.38pm police received a report of a burglary in the Donegall Street area where a vehicle had been taken.
Police then received reports of a car which matched the description being driven dangerously in the Whiterock Leisure Centre car park.
Police air support was deployed and observed the car driving erratically in the Moyard Parade area.
Officers continued to observe the car and it was involved in a single road traffic collision.
The two males were arrested at the scene.
Local Policing Chief Inspector for West Belfast Anthony McNally said: “The 15-year-old youth was arrested and subsequently charged with disqualified driving, no insurance, two counts of aggravated vehicle taking causing damage to property and aggravated vehicle taking driving dangerously and is due to appear in Belfast Youth Court on 16th June.
"He was also arrested on suspicion of possession of a class B drug and burglary.
“The 18-year-old male was arrested on suspicion of possession of a B drug, no insurance, two counts of aggravated vehicle taking causing damage to property and burglary. He is currently in custody.”
