Teen charged with stabbing in city centre
Police have charged a teenager with murder after a Syrian man was killed in Belfast city centre at the weekend.
Hazem Ahmed Ghreir was found on Sunday evening in Downshire Place near Great Victoria Street after being stabbed.
Police last night charged an 18-year-old with murder. He is due in court this morning.
The PSNI has asked anyone who might have witnessed the incident to come forward, and are particularly keen to hear from a couple who helped the victim after the attack at around 10.45pm.
Police have said they do not believe the attack was racist.
