Teenager arrested after a man was stabbed in the face in north Belfast

A 17-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder following an incident in north Belfast on Saturday evening.

He was arrested following an incident in the Harcourt Drive area shortly after 7pm last night.

A PSNI spokesman said police had received a report that a man had been stabbed in the face close to junction of Harcourt Drive and Manor Street.

"A 19 year old male was taken to hospital for treatment for a serious laceration to his cheek. His condition is described as stable," he said.

The 17-year-old suspect remains in police custody being quizzed by detectives.

Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson is appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who has any information that can assist with the investigation to contact detectives at Musgrave Police Station on 101.
