Teenager charged with number of offences after allegedly 'threatening ambulance crew with meat cleaver'
An 18-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences after an ambulance crew were allegedly threatened with a meat cleaver.
The teenager is due to appear at Belfast Magistrates' Court on Thursday charged with common assault, possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence and two counts of breaching an anti-social behaviour order.
The charges relate to an incident in the Ravelston Way area of Newtownabbey on Tuesday morning when a man being treated by paramedics became verbally aggressive.
The Ambulance Service claimed two members of staff had to withdraw from the scene for their own safety after being threatened with a meat cleaver.
