Teenager found injured in road

A teenager is fighting for his life in hospital after being found lying on a Co Armagh road with head injuries.

He was discovered unconscious on the Lake Road, Craigavon, in the early hours of yesterday morning.

A passing ambulance crew noticed the youth, believed to be aged around 17, on the carriageway near a pedestrian bridge between roundabouts two and three.

His condition is described as critical.

A spokesman for the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said it was not known how he was hurt.

He said: " It is unclear at this stage how the injuries were sustained and police would ask anyone who saw a male youth wearing blue jeans, white trainers and a black T-shirt in the area, possibly walking from Burnside towards Lake Road, to contact them."
