Teenager injured in Tyrone attack

A teenager has been hospitalised after he was attacked by a group of men in Co Tyrone.

The 18-year-old youth was being treated for his injuries, which are not thought to be life-threatening, after the assault in Cookstown in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Three men, aged 22, 23 and 24, have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm following the incident, which happened at around 1.30am in the Drum Road area of the town.

Police also issued a 24-year-old woman with a penalty notice for disorder at the scene, while a 16-year-old boy was street bailed.

Witnesses have been urged to contact police.
