Teenager shot in leg by attackers

An 18-year-old man has been shot in Belfast.

He was hit twice in the right leg after being targeted by three masked men at a fast food outlet in the west of the city.

Police said the gunmen shot the victim at the rear of the property on Falls Road just after 9pm last night.

The teenager was taken to hospital for treatment to injuries which were not believed to be life threatening.

The gunmen, who were dressed in black and wearing balaclavas, fled on foot along Thames Street.

Detective Inspector Jenna Fitzpatrick, from the Police Service of Northern Ireland, appealed for any witnesses to contact the CID at Woodbourne on the non emergency 101 number.
