Two teenage boys have been arrested following an aggravated burglary in south Belfast.

At around 11.45pm on Saturday, police received a report that two young males had entered a house on Lille Park and made off with a set of car keys.

The males then stole the car. It is believed that one of the males was armed with a knife.

A short time later the car was abandoned in the Arnon Street area of north Belfast.

The two teenagers, aged 17 and 14, were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including aggravated burglary, taking and driving away and dangerous driving.

Inspector John Murray said: "The two males currently remain in custody assisting police with their enquiries."
