Thieves steal charity collection box for Benvardin Animal Rescue Kennels

Heartless thieves have stolen a charity collection box for the animal sanctuary Benvardin Animal Rescue Kennels.

The charity said the collection box was taken from Pets in the Port, Portrush.

A couple came into the store and as one distracted a worker the other took the collection box.

The charity, which has faced financial hardship in recent years and mounted a fundraising campaign to help save its Co Antrim home, said the theft had been reported to police.
