Three arrested after attempt to petrol bomb Belfast house
Police have arrested three men following an attempt to throw petrol bombs at a north Belfast house.
The incident happened in Alliance Road in the early hours of Wednesday.
Chief Inspector Robert Singleton said: "At around 1.30am police detected two men preparing to throw petrol bombs at a house.
"The men were pursued on foot before they made off in a car.
"Details of the incident were circulated to other officers, who subsequently stopped a vehicle in the Mervue Street area a short time later."
Three men in the car were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences, including possessing a petrol bomb in suspicious circumstances, possessing an article with a blade or point in a public place and attempted criminal damage.
Two of the men are aged 25 and one is aged 28.
