Three arrested in north Belfast over 1994 loyalist murder of Sean McParland
Detectives investigating a 1994 loyalist murder in north Belfast have arrested three men.
Sean McParland, 55, was shot in Skegoniel Avenue in north Belfast on 17 February 1994 while babysitting.
He died a week later.
PSNI Serious Crime Branch arrested three suspects aged 40, 47 and 51 on Monday morning in north Belfast.
They have been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim police station for questioning and a number of properties were also searched in the area.
The 47-year-old suspect is also being questioned about the murders of Gary Convie and Eamon Fox in May 1994.
Gary Convie (24) and Eamon Fox (44) were sitting in their car at a building site in North Queen Street on 17 May 1994 when a gunman opened fire with a submachine gun.
The arrests are part of Operation Stafford, an investigation into a series of murders and other serious crimes by the UVF in north Belfast.
