Three arrested over man's death

Detectives investigating the death of a 69-year-old man are treating the case as murder.

He was found in the Drumtara area of Ballymena, Co Antrim, yesterday afternoon. Two men aged 41 and 49 and a 47-year-old woman have been arrested and are being questioned by officers from the PSNI serious crime branch.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan Dickson has appealed for information about an altercation involving a group of people.

Witnesses are asked to contact police on the non-emergency 101 number.

North Antrim MLA Jim Allister said: "I am saddened to learn of the death of a man in Drumtara, Ballymena, yesterday afternoon.

"My thoughts and prayers are with the family of the victim at this time."

The TUV leader encouraged anyone with information to go to the police.
