Three held after cannabis finds in north Belfast

Police in north Belfast have uncovered a significant quantity of cannabis during searches of two properties over the weekend.

On Friday evening, May 2, police conducted a search of a property in Hopewell Crescent and discovered cannabis with an estimated street value of £6,000-£8,000.

A 31-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man were arrested. They were interviewed and subsequently released on police bail pending further inquiries.

Shortly after 6.30pm on Sunday, police conducted a search of a property in Mount Coole Park and discovered cannabis plants inside the premises with an estimated street value in excess of £130,000.

A 60-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of a number of drugs offences and remains in custody helping police with their inquiries.
