Three held over fuel laundering
Three men from Northern Ireland have been arrested in Co Donegal after a major fuel-laundering plant was uncovered.
The black market operation in Castlefin was equipped to produce about three million litres of illegal diesel a year.
The Revenue Customs Service said the laundering scam would have cost the Exchequer 1.3 million euro in lost revenue every year.
Officers seized 12,000 litres of laundered fuel, a lorry, a van and a car at the plant.
The three suspects have been detained at Letterkennny Garda station.
