Three injured after vans catch fire in Lisburn crash

Three people have been taken to hospital following a horrific crash in Lisburn which left the two vehicles destroyed.

The crash happened before 8am on Monday.

Police tweeted a picture appearing to show the two vehicles burnt out.

Three people were taken to hospital after the crash.

Police said two of those involved are not believed to have suffered life threatening injuries.

Motorists are advised to avoid the Hillhall Road at the Quarterlands Road Junction.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service sent three appliances to the scene at 7.49am to the crash involving two vans.

A NIFRS spokesman said: "Firefighters using breathing apparatus, two hosereel jets and a foam jet dealt with the two vehicles well alight in the area.

“Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service finished at the scene at 8:53am.”

Motorists are advised to take an alternative route.
