Raising money for charity is a walk in the park, according to UTV’s yummy mummy Tina Campbell.
And the popular presenter of The Seven Thirty Show was only too willing to put her best foot forward to launch this year’s Action Cancer Mother’s Day charity walk.
The location for the event next month is Sir Thomas and Lady Dixon Park on the Upper Malone Road.
And all proceeds raised will go towards funding counselling for children who have a parent with a cancer diagnosis.
Tina, a mum of two little girls and a little boy, told The CT she was only too pleased to support such a worthy cause.
“I am delighted to launch Action Cancer’s Mother’s Day walk,” she said.
“The aim of the event is to raise a lot of funds for children’s counselling and I want to encourage as many people as possible to take part and show their support.
“An hour’s counselling costs £25 so it’s easy to imagine how a walk in the park can make a difference.”
And event organiser Christine Crawford called on as many people as possible to support the fundraiser.
“This is an opportunity to do something new on Mother’s Day to help your local cancer charity and enjoy some exercise at the same time,” she said.
“We hope to raise a lot of funds for children’s counselling from the event and want as many people as possible to take part and show their support.”
The 2.5 mile walk through the grounds and gardens of Lady Dixon Park begins at 11am on Sunday, March 14.
The route will take participants through the rose gardens, past the fountain and historic Wilmont House and into the rustic scenery of the forest.
