Top 10 Northern Ireland baby names: James and Emily most popular among parents
James and Emily were the most popular baby names in 2015 for parents.
James became the most popular name for boys the first time since reporting began in 1997, knocking off the ever-popular Jack which had an unbroken spell of 12 years at the top.
Three-hundred babies were registered with the name throughout the past 12 months.
The top 10 for boys remained largely unchanged, with Jake and Matthew new entries replacing Ethan and Jacob.
New entries in the top 100 include Jackson, Arthur, Conan, Joe, Ciaran, Eli, Daithi, Seth, Owen and Dara.
For girls Emily continued her dominance at the top of the pile with 233 babies given the name.
Ella was next knocking Grace into third.
New entries into the top 100 included: Rosa, Harper, Gracie, Naomi, Cassie, Orlaith, Kate, Saoirse and Julia.
The latest figures are published by the Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency.
