Top athletes in bash for Limavady’s 400th anniversary
Top athletes from across Northern Ireland and beyond are to take on each other in a major event to celebrate Limavady’s 400th anniversary.
The inaugural Limavady 400 Quadrathon will test some of the country’s top endurance athletes with an anniversary-themed challenge on Saturday, June 8.
Organiser Peter Jack said: “It’s a unique, one-off sporting challenge that will incorporate fabulous scenery with a tough challenge for adventure racers, triathletes and canoeists.”
The charity event — restricted to 40 participants — consists of a four-kilometre mountain run, a 40-kilometre bike section, a four-kilometre canoe on the River Roe and four-kilometre orienteering sprint finish, plus a series of exercises in between each segment.
The challenge is being organised by the local Rotary Club in conjunction with Limavady Borough Council and is backed by EFP Gyms, Belfast.
