Triplet pair get same results... in same subjects
Two boys from a set of triplets achieved the same A-level results.
Matthew and Marc Young (19) were celebrating at Belfast Boys' Model School yesterday after finding out they had both scored an impressive A*, A and C in the same subjects - ICT, public services, and travel and tourism.
"We are actually two of triplets and are incredibly close," they told the Belfast Telegraph. "The other triplet - our sister - left school last year.
"We chose the same subjects - ICT, public services, and travel and tourism - and we both got the exact same results. Our mum and dad don't know yet, but they'll be over the Moon when we tell them."
The pair added they were both really pleased with their grades.
"Mine are much better than I expected as I messed about a bit last year and didn't work as hard as I should have," said Matthew. "However, I caught myself on in time.
"We didn't help each other at all with our studies. I stayed in school after classes, and Marc preferred to study at home. Although we were doing the same subjects, we didn't sit together in class or anything like that."
Marc said: "I'm going to Ulster University to study leisure and events management, but Matthew hasn't made up his mind whether to accept a confirmed place at Ulster University to study travel and tourism, or look for full-time employment. If Matthew does decide to go to uni, we'll both move up to the Coleraine campus together."
