Two charged over £750k drugs haul

Two men have been arrested and charged after police found drugs with an estimated street value of almost £750,000 in Portadown.

Some 4.5 kilos of cocaine along with 10 kilos of benzocaine, which can be mixed with the Class A drug to bulk out the amount available for sale, were discovered.

Two vehicles and five properties were searched in the town and in Craigavon on Wednesday.

Four people were arrested.

Two men -both aged 32 - have been charged with possession of Class A drugs and possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply.

They are to appear at Craigavon Magistrates' Court today.

A 26-year-old woman was released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service, while a 34-year-old man was released on bail.
