Two hunted after teenager shot

Detectives are hunting two men in Northern Ireland after a teenager was shot in the buttock.

The attack happened in the New Barnsley Gardens area of Belfast at around 2:30pm this afternoon, investigators said.

The 19-year-old victim was taken to hospital for treatment to his injuries, which are not believed to be life threatening.

It is believed the two masked men - wearing dark clothing - made off in the direction of Vere Foster Walk.

Detective Chief Inspector Alan Little appealed for help from the public. "We need the community's assistance with this incident and I would ask anyone with any information about this incident to contact CID in Grosvenor Road Police Station on 0845 600 8000," he said.

" Or if someone would prefer to provide information without giving their details, they can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers and speak to them anonymously on 0800 555 111."
