Two men aged 21 and 27 arrested for Antrim armed robbery

Two men were arrested on Saturday in connection with an armed robbery and a spate of attempted robberies in Antrim town.

The men aged 21 and 27 were caught after attempts to rob a pharmacy at knifepoint at Fountain Hill in the town between 1 -2.55pm.

It is believed they were involved in attempts to rob an off-licence and a shop in the Greystones Shopping Centre and a fastfood restaurant also in Fountain Hill between this time.

Detective Sergeant Peter Crothers said: “We are keen to hear from witnesses or anyone with information regarding these crimes. Detectives can be contacted at the offices of Antrim Reactive and Organised Crime by calling 101.”

Both men are in custody.
