Two men arrested in connection with murder of Brian McIlhagga released
Two men arrested in connection with the January 2015 murder of Brian McIlhagga have been released unconditionally.
The arrests were also made in connection with a paramilitary-style shooting in Ballymoney in March 2015.
Detectives from the Serious Crime Branch arrested a 45-year-old and 41-year-old and they were released on Tuesday evening.
Mr McIlhagga, a 42-year-old father-of-five, died at the scene after being dragged from his home at Riverview Park in Ballymoney, before being beaten and shot in the legs by a group of masked men.
A 33-year-old woman lived in the house at the same time and was also assaulted by the gang.
Mr McIlhagga's four children were home at the time of the incident.
In January of this year on the second anniversary of his killing earlier this year the PSNI made a renewed appeal for information.
The PSNI's Detective Chief Inspector Michael Harvey said: “Detectives also carried out two searches and a number of items were seized.”
