Two men hurt in shooting at west Belfast pigeon club

Two men have been shot in a paramilitary-style attack inside a west Belfast social club.

The men were taken to hospital after receiving gunshot wounds to the legs in the incident at a homing pigeon club on Iveagh Street off the Falls Road.

The shooting took place around 4pm on Monday.

SDLP MLA Alex Attwood condemned those responsible.

"The response of the community must be as it was in past decades - a resolve to resist those who deny human rights, use the gun, oppose Irish democracy and undermine the rule of law," he said.
