Two men accused of stabbing a Chinese businessman to death and trying to kill his wife are to be interrogated about other crimes, a judge heard yesterday.

As Virgilio Augusto Fernando Correia (33), from Grant Avenue, Randalstown, and Christopher David Menaul (25), from Barra Street, Antrim, stood in the dock, a police inspector applied for them to be released "into police custody".

A detective constable confirmed the pair are in custody accused of "serious offences" and are set "to be questioned in relation to separate offences" at Antrim custody suite.

Along with a third defendant, 32-year-old Gary Thompson, from Cunningham Way in Antrim, the pair are charged with the murder of Wing Fu 'Nelson' Cheung and attempting to murder his wife Kam-Fung 'Winnie' Cheung. District Judge Alan White released Menaul and Correia into police custody and said they should be brought back to court "as soon as possible".
