Two more held in laundering probe

Two people have been arrested as part of a major police crackdown on money laundering and insurance fraud.

A 55-year-old woman and 28-year-old man were detained by detectives from the PSNI's organised crime branch in Belfast.

A police spokesman said the pair were assisting officers with their inquiries.

The arrests bring to 12 the number of suspects detained in the investigation which police say is expected to continue for some time.

Last week three people were arrested while a further seven were arrested in Co Antrim and Scotland in May.

Searches have also been carried out at various locations in Belfast, Ballymena, Antrim and Glenavy.

All 10 are on bail pending further inquiries.
