Two saved in Annalong Forest beauty spot rescue

Two men who got lost while walking near Annalong Forest had to be rescued in an operation involving the PSNI.

The incident happened at arond 10.15pm on Saturday when police received a report the men were on the Mourne Wall walk.

They needed assistance on being guided down.

Police unsuccessfully used sirens and lights to try to guide the walkers.

After this, the Search and Rescue co-ordinators (SAR) were contacted by police before the Mourne Rescue Team and the police helicopter were deployed.

A police vehicle used its siren in the Quarter Road area which one of the men reported he could hear.

This led to the men being located shortly after 1am.

The two men were said to be in good health and went home after being located.
