A 23-year-old man has had nails hammered into each hand during a burglary in north Belfast.

He was attacked after a gang of masked men forced him into the kitchen of a house in Florence Walk at around 8.15pm on Thursday.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment.

A woman who was in the house was not injured.

PSNI Detective Sergeant Keith Wilson appealed for anyone with information to contact detectives at Musgrave Street station on the non-emergency number 101.
